Podcast Recommendations

In no particular order.

1. The Dwarkesh podcast

The Dwarkest Podcast Icon

Particularly his episodes on the war for india, and his chats with gwern and tyler cowen.

2. Ologies with Allie Ward

The Ologies Podcast Icon

I wouldn’t recommend this to all of my friends, but if you like random sciences then it’s good. Among my favorite episodes are Delphinology, Dendrology, Zymology, Somnology, and ADHD.

This one gets bonus points for having such a deep library of episodes, as its been running with the same quality for many years.

Honorable mention to Curious Cases if you enjoy this Ologies.

3. Hardcore History

Hardcore History Podcast

I haven’t listened to most of it, but his series Supernova in the East is probably the most I’ve been sucked into a history podcast.

4. The Numberphile Podcast

The Numberphile Podcast Logo

If it weren’t well known, I would have mentioned it earlier. It is the best math podcast, but most math lovers people have probably listened to it all. This and the Lex Fridman podcast are listed here only for completeness.

5. Lex Fridman

This one is well known and does not need explanation.

6. AZ: The History of Arizona Podcast

The History of Arizona Podcast Logo

We’re very lucky to have such a comprehensive podcast on our state. I bet a lot of states don’t have one like this.

David Rookhuyzen put a lot of time and energy into this.

It tracks pretty well with the only textbook on Arizona History that I have read, Arizona’s Heritage, but it goes much deeper on certain niche scenes and stories.

7. Anthropology podcasts

Neither of these are worth wholeheartedly recommending, but they are the two best I’ve found on anthropology.

It’s worth scrolling through the episode list and picking out a couple. Quality differs a lot between episodes.
